Meet Jonathan DeBruin
Hyperion Automation is adding to its management team. Jonathan DeBruin will join as technical project manager, supporting the entire team through complex projects.
Jonathan earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Dordt University in 2021. He completed internships at Pridgeon & Clay, General Motors (GM) and Groschopp, Inc., gaining early exposure to stamping, manufacturing engineering and small motor production.

He began at GM as an intern before joining full time. Over his five-year span in the Detroit area, he quickly worked his way across both the plant floor and corporate environments, moving through a manufacturing engineering rotational program, a mechanical development engineer role and most recently a position as autonomous robotics center planning engineer. That range of experience gave him a well-rounded perspective on manufacturing operations.
After nearly five years with a large company, Jonathan was eager to join a tight-knit team with a strong culture and values that aligned with his own. For Jonathan, putting people first — both internally and externally — is a priority. In his new role, he will support all departments. By streamlining communication and processes, he’ll keep each department focused on its core competencies to ensure a smooth customer experience from start to finish.
“When you’re wearing many hats, you’re closer to the full picture, and that can make you a better problem solver for the customer,” said Jonathan.
Outside of work, Jonathan stays busy with his wife and two kids. A West Michigan native, he returned to the area after his years in Detroit and enjoys water skiing, snow skiing, camping and a good card game. He is also currently pursuing an MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
