Partnering with OAISD to Prepare Students for Careers in Automation

Curiosity, a passion for problem-solving and a love for tinkering often spark interest in a career in automation. Many of today’s experts began their journey just like the bright students at Ottawa Area ISD, eager to explore how things work and dive into the world of automation. Recently, our team had the chance to support the students’ career development as they explore job opportunities in this rapidly growing field.

Career Preparation Presentation

Bobby Carpenter, a sales engineer at Hyperion, once found himself in the same position as Careerline Tech’s students. As an alumnus of a Mechatronics Program, he drew from his experience to share a unique perspective on modern manufacturing during his recent visit to Careerline Tech’s Mechatronics Program. Using photos and videos, Bobby showed how automation drives efficiency and consistency across various industries.

Mock Interviews

In a mock interview session, automation engineering manager Adam Morehouse helped students apply their unique knowledge to future career opportunities. He answered questions about real-world automation applications and gave valuable feedback, empowering students to pursue careers that utilize their passions within the automation industry.
